Three Ingredient Sweetheart Lip Balm

Three Ingredient Sweetheart Lip Balm

three ingredient sweetheart lip balm

Pucker up! It’s Valentine’s Day, and we are so excited to bring you this recipe!

It’s a super easy three ingredient sweetheart lip balm and it’s pretty self explanatory. You can literally make this in the next few minutes and be prepared for a Valentine’s Day kiss.

Get ready for soft, smooth, and pink lips!

Ingredients like coconut oil nourish lips while providing a base for other ingredients. Beeswax protects lips and keeps the balm on your lips. Mica powder adds a beautiful pink hue of color just for the day.

We like to call it a sweetheart lip balm because it’s absolutely perfect for pink, supple Valentine’s Day lips. Get those kissers ready, ladies!

What you need

How to make it

Using a double boiler on low heat, melt together your beeswax pastilles and virgin coconut oil. Once it is fully liquid, remove from the heat and add in your mica powder.

Mix well, and set out in room temperature for about half an hour. Once again, mix well.

Now, transfer the mixture to your cute tin containers. Stick a cute sticker on each one.

Now, you have a three ingredient sweetheart lip balm which makes your lips shine! Your lips will ‘thank youuu’ for these natural ingredients to be put on them.

You may even get some compliments, the color is so pretty! Get out there and have a crunchy, DIY Valentine’s Day!

We love this shade of pink mica powder, however you can use whichever color you’d like, as long as it is cosmetic grade and approved for use on lips.

What color are you using in yours? Let us know in the comments section below!

Cooling Hand Balm

Cooling Hand Balm

cooling hand balm

Our hands do so much for us. Think about it – they wash dishes, do work, garden, fold clothes…the list goes on and on! Sometimes our hands deserve a break.

Luckily, there is a cooling hand balm you can make at home to soothe those hands. Apply it yourself, or even better have your partner massage your hands with this balm. Their hands will reap the benefits too!

Peppermint and Eucalyptus oils provide a cooling sensation. Both of these oils are said to have pain reducing properties, as well as anti-inflammatory properties.

Coconut oil moisturizes and helps the balm to “glide” across your hands, while beeswax adds a protective layer from outside contaminants. This cooling hand balm comes in handy during the entire year, but especially in cooler months which can cause hands to dry out or even chap.

What you need

How to make it

Using a double boiler on low to medium heat, melt together your coconut oil, cocoa butter, and beeswax pastilles. Stir occasionally, and then remove from the heat once fully liquid.

Once the temperature is 90 degrees fahrenheit or below, add in your essential oils. Use a hand mixer to mix the concoction well.

Place it in your desired container, and let it set overnight in room temperature – OR place it in the fridge for three hours.

Once it is set and in a solid state, you are ready to put the lid on and store it in room temperature. Make sure to keep it away from heat and moisture.

To use it, simply take a nickel size amount and massage it all over your hands. Make sure not to touch your face afterwards – essential oils like these can irritate your eyes and face.

Pump Bottle Recipes

Pump Bottle Recipes

pump lotion recipes

We all love to make DIY all natural soaps and lotions. Sometimes a jar of whipped body butter is exactly what we need.

However, sometimes it’s nice to have a recipe in a pump bottle. It’s convenient, works well for a number of recipes, and it looks pretty!

You can slap a cute little label onto pump bottle recipes to make them pretty, and to remember what they’re for. No one wants to accidentally lather some shampoo onto their skin mistaking it for lotion.

To make any of these recipes, start by melting down the cosmetic butters and solid ingredients, such as shea butter, cocoa butter, or coconut oil.

Next, add your liquid oils such as almond oil, jojoba, or essential oils. Finally, add in any other ingredients.

Blend well using a hand mixer or Kitchen Aid, and then pour it into your pump lotion bottle.

Pump Lotion Recipe – Fresh Scent

Hydrating Hair Treatment

Stimulating Scalp Shampoo

Moisturizing Hand Soap

  • 3/4 cup Castille Soap
  • 1 TBSP Shea Butter
  • 1 TBSP Almond Oil
  • 15 drops Eucalyptus Oil

Now you have four fabulous pump bottle recipes to try at home. Shake any of these recipes well before use to ensure the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Each recipe is a mixture of natural and organic ingredients, which help to hydrate instead of dry out. Kick out the chemicals – it’s 2018, and it’s time to switch over to all natural, wholesome ingredients!

It feels better to put ingredients on your skin you can pronounce. No more fillers, unnecessary chemicals and additives, or preservatives. How are you making the commitment to make the switch this year? Let us know in the comments!

Hydrating Lip Balm

Hydrating Lip Balm

hydrating lip balm

It’s Winter, and that usually means chapped skin, especially lips! Did you know lips are the thinnest skin on your entire body? This makes them especially vulnerable to outside elements like the cold and wind.

Add in dry weather, and you can have some serious lip issues. It’s important to hydrate your lips and protect them. Ingredients like coconut oil and shea butter are ultra hydrating to lips, and beeswax seals that moisture in and protects.

Let’s make a simple hydrating lip balm to protect those fabulous lips of yours from the elements and from premature aging.

What you need

How to make it

The process is very easy! Melt down the shea butter, coconut oil, and beeswax pastilles. Do this by using a double boiler on low-medium heat.

Stir well when done, and then add in your Vitamin E and essential oils. Stir well again, and then put it in your desired containers. Place the containers in the fridge or freezer until it’s solid.

Voila! Now you have ultra hydrating lip balm. It protects your lips from the elements, as well as hydrates deep within the skin.

You don’t need to worry about chapped lips when you have this lip balm with you. Simply re-apply as needed.

In this Video I’m going to share with you How To Get Rid Of Acid Reflux And Heartburn Naturally.

This list of natural remedies can be used in lieu of antacids, which have unwanted side effects and contain aluminum. They have also been associated with senility and Alzheimer’s disease.

  1. Anise, Peppermint, and Lavender Herbal Tea
Mix together equal amounts of Aniseed, Peppermint and Lavender.
Make an infusion of this tea…
Boil 2 ½ cups of distilled water.
Pour the boiling water over a teaspoon of the herbal mixture.
Let the tea sit for 3- 5 minutes.
Strain the tea and add a little bit of honey if you like.
Place the tea in a thermos.
Drink up to 8 oz in the morning and 8 oz in the evening to help you reduce the amount of acid you have in your stomach.Aniseed or anise is a powerful herb that helps in digestive conditions and has many other benefits for your body. Use only the ash-colored anise called green anise, European anise or sweet anise. Note, there are two other types of anise, which are star anise and caraway. These types should not be used for this recipe.Peppermint is another powerful herb for stomach conditions or heartburn. It helps in digestion, stomach distension, cramps, ulcers, and gas.Lavender is most widely known for its scent. However, this herb has enormous healing properties for your body. Lavender is useful in reducing acid in the stomach.
  2. Betain, Pepsin, and Papaya Digestive Enzymes
As you get older, your stomach weakens in its ability to produce hydrochloric acid to digest protein. It is undigested protein that leads to acid reflux or heartburn.Use digestive enzymes that contain Betain, Pepsin, or HCl with each meal to make sure you digest all of your protein.
Papaya digestive enzymes, which contain papain, are also excellent for protein digestion and you can use them with each meal. Use 500mg or more of papaya enzymes per meal.
  3. Pineapples
Pineapples are a store house of enzymes and contain bromelain, an enzymes that reduces protein. Pineapples support digestion, reduce inflammation, and aid in wound healing. The fresh juice has a high level of enzymes that will help stop your acid reflux.
You can also buy bromelain as a tablet and take 200 – 500mg at every meal.
  4. Chicory Root
Chicory comes from a family of bitter herbs that contain endive and escarole. Boil 1½ cups of chicory root for 5 – 10 minutes. After it cools to room temperature, drink this tea to aid in acid reflux or heartburn.

Adding a salad to your diet everyday, along with these herbs, will also help you to avoid the bouts of acid reflux and heartburn.

Best Skincare Habits

Best Skincare Habits

best skincare habits

We’ve all been guilty of it before – leaving makeup on overnight, not exfoliating, or even forgetting to wash your face. They are not good habits to have.

We need to care for our skin, because it’s our largest organ and also because we are stuck with it for life. Hair grows back, nails can too.

Our skin, however, needs to be maintained and taken care of with the utmost of care. Let’s review the best skincare habits – call it a 2018 resolution!

Take off that makeup

It’s so easy when you are tired from a day at work to think, “oh well, it’s just one night.” However, makeup is not good to leave on your skin. It clogs pores, and drains moisture from your face. You can end up with acne or even worse, premature wrinkles and age spots.

Instead, if you are very tired or in a rush, try using some coconut oil and almond oil. You can apply this to your face and rub it in small upward circles, and then dampen a cloth and wipe it off. It will still remove your makeup and add moisture, while not taking much time or effort.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Moisture is what keeps skin healthy, and prevents all kinds of pre-mature aging! Your skin craves moisture constantly. Moisturize in the morning, as well as at night before you go to bed.

Your face is the most important to keep moisturized – however, the rest of your body needs it too. Hands age quicker than most parts of the body, and your lips do too. Try using lip balm regularly, facial moisturizer, and hand cream. Body butter works wonders for the rest!

Use Natural Products

Perhaps one of the very best skincare habits is to use natural products. Your skin absorbs a lot of what you put on top of it. If it is regularly absorbing chemicals and preservatives, chances are your skin may age prematurely.

You can make your own all natural skincare products at home with ingredients such as coconut oil, almond oil, essential oils, and more. Take a look at our other blog posts if you aren’t sure where to start. We have plenty of recipes!
