Calming body butter is something that comes in handy right about now. The holidays can be a wonderful time filled with family, friends, joy, laughter, and good times. However, they can be very stressful as well. Planning, cooking, cleaning, and shopping are among the more stressful aspects of the holidays. Don’t even get me started on the holiday traffic! These small stressful situations can add up to a very stressed out mind and body. Luckily, you can make a DIY calming body butter to help de-stress and relax! It has the most soothing essential oil out there – Lavender Oil.

What You’ll Need

How to Make it

  1. Using the double boiler method, melt together the coconut oil and shea butter. Make sure to stir well.
  2. Take off the heat, and let the mixture sit in room temperature for one to two hours.
  3. Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, whip well.
  4. While you are whipping, add in your sweet almond oil, lavender, and chamomile one at a time.
  5. Mix for a good five minutes, and then place your mixture into the fridge overnight.
  6. Take the mixture out and let it sit for a couple of hours in room temperature.
  7. Whip it up for five minutes one final time.
  8. Put the body butter into a glass jar for storage. Mason jars work great!
  9. Keep your body butter stored with a sealed lid, and keep it away from heat and moisture.

To use your calming body butter, simply take a small amount out of the jar and apply to skin. A small amount goes a long way! When you are feeling stressed out, use this lotion on arms, legs, and feet. Get ready for a soothing and calming experience that you need after the holiday season!
