Fall Body Butter Recipe

fall body butter recipe

The leaves are falling, and the colors are changing. It’s that time of year! We have started a series of Fall inspired DIY skin care and home products. We have recipes for body scrub, hand soap, and even wax melts. Now, it’s time to focus on the skin care product everyone enjoys: Body Butter! Body butter has a different consistency than lotion does. It is thick, and much more dense. A small amount goes a longer way than lotion does! It melts into skin, and has instant skin-softening results. This Fall Body Butter Recipe does not take much time to create, and is made with simple and wholesome ingredients. This recipe smells good enough to eat, but please don’t! It’s for your skin to enjoy only 🙂

  1. Use a double boiler on low-medium heat to melt the Shea Butter, Almond Oil, and Coconut Oil together.
  2. Remove from the heat once fully melted.
  3. Let cool for an hour in room temperature, or 20 minutes in the fridge. Part of the concoction will be harder than the rest – that is the way it should be.
  4. Add in your essential oils.
  5. Using a hand mixer or Kitchen Aid, whip it all together well for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Transfer your mixture to a sealed glass container – a small mason jar works great.
  7. Use a small amount and rub into skin as desired. Do not apply to your face.

This Fall Body Butter Recipe will be usable for about 6 months, although it probably won’t last that long! Even if you are not yet in the Fall spirit, this just may help you get there. It’s loaded with vitamin A from the shea butter, which skin absolutely loves. The almond oil will help the butter absorb into your skin. The coconut oil will not only hydrate, but also create a layer of protection from free radicals to skin. The essential oils each have skin benefits of their own, however their most important job is to make a wonderful Fall scent!
