Sensitive Skin Face Scrub

Sensitive Skin Face Scrub

sensitive skin face scrub

Sensitive skin is very common. People who suffer from conditions like eczema or psoriasis really understand the struggle. Acne sufferers often have sensitive skin, and acne tends to pop up after using harsh products on the face. Either way, dry skin build up needs to be gotten rid of. Your face is what the world sees first!

All that dead skin built up will cause issues. Acne, dryness, flakes, you name it. It even prevents moisture from being able to penetrate your skin. You may have a wonderful face moisturizer, but it needs to be able to reach your actual skin. After you use a face wash, it’s time to use your sensitive skin face scrub. You can use it a couple of times per week, or even once every day. It works that well!

What you need

How to Make it

  1. In a bowl, combine all ingredients. Add essential oils last.
  2. Using a hand mixer, mix well for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Transfer your mixture to a jar with a lid.
  4. To use, put a quarter size amount on your hands. Use an upward circular motion to exfoliate, avoiding eyes and the hair line.
  5. Rinse with warm water and then pat dry with a soft cloth.

It’s that easy. Once you use your sensitive skin face scrub, you can then properly moisturize if you desire. The moisture will penetrate your skin much easier, now that the dead layers of skin are all removed!

The coconut oil and almond oil in this recipe will provide moisture, while the sugar works to gently exfoliate. The tea tree oil is wonderful for acne, and works to rid your face of bacteria. Enjoy soft, exfoliated skin!

DIY Eczema Cream

DIY Eczema Cream

diy eczema cream

Over 30 million Americans have Eczema. Yikes! That number is huge, and seems to be ever growing. If you have eczema, you may experience dry, red, itchy, and sometimes scaly patches of skin. It is not fun to deal with, and you can not cover it up easily. It can be very noticeable, if even just to yourself. Uncomfortable as it may be, there are ways of dealing with eczema. Sometimes, a change in diet is needed. You can speak to a nutritionist or doctor about this, and determine if you have any food allergies which are contributing. More often than not, the cause of your eczema is impossible to determine. There is a DIY eczema cream you can make for yourself with ingredients which help to manage eczema. It is easy to make, and you will notice a difference within the first couple days of use.

What you need

How to make it

  1. Using a double boiler, melt your beeswax into a liquid first.
  2. Once beeswax is a liquid, add in your shea butter, coconut oil, and almond oil.
  3. Stir your ingredients occasionally until fully liquid.
  4. Remove from heat and let sit in room temperature for 30 minutes.
  5. Add in your colloidal silver and vegetable glycerine. Make sure to stir all ingredients together well until fully combined.
  6. Put your mixture into the fridge overnight.
  7. Remove your mixture, and let it sit in room temperature for 2-3 hours.
  8. Using a hand mixer or Kitchen Aid, mix for about 2-3 minutes.
  9. Take a spatula or spoon and transfer your DIY eczema cream into the container of your choice. Mason jars work great!
  10. Use a small amount of cream daily for eczema flare-ups, or just on dry patches of skin. A little goes a long way.

Colloidal Silver kills bacteria and yeasts which can occur during eczema flare-ups and skin infections. Shea Butter, Almond Oil, Beeswax, and Coconut oil combine to moisturize skin as well as protect it. Vegetable glycerine is extremely moisturizing, and provides an added barrier to protect skin from outside elements. It will also help your liquid ingredients to mix with more solid ingredients. Eczema flare-ups do not have to ruin your day. Use this DIY eczema cream for some relief!

No Poo Spray

No Poo Spray

diy no poo spray

Most of us know about the famous brand, “Poo Pourri.” It’s a No Poo Spray which makes going number two, well, much less stinky. Have you ever found yourself at a restroom in someone else’s house or in a public restroom, wishing you could erase any evidence of your existence? Sometimes, an aerosol spray is available for this purpose. Aerosols are not good for your health and they are certainly not good for the environment. That is quite a hefty price to pay for something which simply masks a smell, and does not get rid of it.

No Poo Spray is cheap and easy to make at home. Instead of masking smells, it forms a protective oily layer on the top of the toilet water, trapping odors beneath the surface until you flush. Not only does it mask these odors, it smells very pleasant as well! It is not harmful to your health to use no poo spray. It also is not bad for the environment. It’s an easy recipe, so let’s get right to it.

What You Need

How to Make It

  1. Using a pipette, put your essential oils into your glass spray bottle.
  2. Fill up the rest of the way with water, and replace the top.
  3. Shake before each use.
  4. Before using the restroom, spray 3-4 sprays into the toilet bowl. There should be a clear oily film on top of the water.
  5. Go ahead and do your business, of course flushing when done.
  6. Voila! No poo smells!

This version of No Poo Spray costs much less to make than the famous “Poo Pourri” brand. You can keep one in your pocket or in your purse when you leave the house.

Vegan Avocado Spread

Butter and margarine both contain a lot of fat, and not the good kind. There is an endless debate on which product is “better for you,” and it doesn’t look like that debate will end any time soon. While Butter is a more natural alternative, many brands of margarine claim to be natural as well. They are usually vegetable oil based, however margarine is known to contain traces of dairy. It is often confused for a vegan alternative, but this is simply not true.

Avocados are full of healthy fats, and are the only fruit that contains a large amount of healthy monounsaturated fatty acids. They contain nearly 20 vitamins and minerals! That’s a whole lot of healthy packed into one fruit.

Coconut oil increases your healthy (HDL) cholesterol, and promotes heart health. Eating more coconut oil can help you lower your risk of heart disease. That’s a pretty big deal, in a country where heart disease is the number one cause of death.

If you don’t want to use butter on your toast, there is a healthy alternative. This vegan avocado spread is delicious, vegan, and super healthy.

Store this in either a Tupperware container or a glass jar such as a mason jar. Keep it in the fridge for up to a week. This Vegan Avocado Spread is perfect to put on toast or tacos, and you can even use it as a dip. Eat some every day if you want, it will add healthy fats and vitamins to your daily routine!
